Rockland Criminal History Checks
Rockland records do not begin at a city police counter. The official county comprehensive plan distinguishes American Falls police service from sheriff rural patrol, the dispatch listing names Rockland Fire but no Rockland police agency, and current Idaho State Police agency tables omit a Rockland PD. This is a current-source finding, not a claim about every point in Rockland’s history.

Why Rockland Records Start Countywide
No separate Rockland police department, city records unit, jail, arrest log, request portal, form, or app appears in the current official county and ISP material. The correct local source is the Power County Sheriff’s Office. Its records and detention counter is at 550 Gifford Street, American Falls, ID 83211. Call 208-226-2311 or fax 208-226-7783. Published counter hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4:45 p.m.
This county-first route matters in Rockland’s rural service area. A caller should not send a sheriff-created report request to AFPD merely because American Falls is the county seat. Likewise, an ISP-created patrol report belongs with Idaho State Police. The agency that made the record is the agency best placed to locate and explain it.
Records at the Rockland Police Department
Current official sources do not identify a Rockland Police Department records office. That makes the heading a routing point, not evidence of a city agency. For a Rockland-area incident, use the Sheriff Request a Report form. It allows requests for accident, incident, and arrest reports and lets a requester identify a case by number, name, or date.
The form also distinguishes a report from statements, pictures, and video, and it offers pickup, fax, email, or mail choices subject to feasibility. It warns that a fee may be required in advance and that review may take three to ten business days after the report is complete and submitted for approval. No fixed amount is published. Active investigations, juveniles, victim privacy, and protected evidence can limit release.
Rockland Incident Records Through Dispatch
Power County Communications Center is the 24-hour public safety answering point for the sheriff, American Falls Police, ambulance, American Falls Fire, and Rockland Fire. It also supports text-to-911. A voice call is preferred when safe, while a text should state an accurate location. This emergency channel is not a public-record search tool.
CAD entries, dispatch logs, and audio are distinct from a sheriff incident narrative. Request them from the communications custodian and describe the Rockland call by date, approximate time, location, and event. An incident can exist without an arrest. A dispatch entry also does not show whether a prosecutor later filed a charge. Those later questions belong to the jail roster and court clerk.
Booking and Arrest Records in Rockland
Rockland has no city jail identified in current official records. A person arrested in the Rockland area goes through Power County Detention Division in American Falls. The sheriff arrest report covers the law-enforcement event, while the booking entry covers jail intake, received charges, bond, custody, and release. Their times and labels may differ.
Use the official Power County Jail Roster for current or recent custody. Call 208-226-2311 when the roster is unclear or release data may have changed. There is no verified official historical county booking archive or Rockland arrest blotter beyond that live roster. A written sheriff request by name, date, or case number is the fallback. A search for a “Rockland Municipal Court” file will miss the correct custodian. Use Power County as the location and confirm the case number and court division before ordering copies.
Rockland Crime Record Boundaries
The ISP Crime in Idaho report gives a 2023 Power County Sheriff Group A NIBRS offense rate of 5,819.48 per 100,000 and a combined county rate of 3,849.96. Neither figure is a Rockland-only rate. The sheriff number covers an agency service area, and the combined number blends reporting across the county.
Do not turn either rate into a count of Rockland arrests or convictions. For a local question, ask the sheriff for incidents filtered by Rockland geography and a defined date range. Then state whether the result counts calls, reports, offenses, arrests, or people. Each unit differs. This approach avoids assigning countywide activity to a city whose 2020 Census count was 242.
How Rockland Records Reach the County
Rockland’s process is county-based from the first law-enforcement record. The sheriff creates the report, detention creates any booking, and the Power County clerk preserves a case if prosecutors file. Fingerprint-supported Idaho arrest and disposition submissions can then reach Idaho State Police BCI. One database will not reproduce all of those files.

Rockland Felony Supervision Records

Describe a Rockland request with a location, date range, event, and known case or report number. A narrow request helps the county locate the right file and assess exemptions. If access is denied or redacted, read the custodian’s cited basis rather than assuming the record is absent.
Rockland Records Across a Rural Valley
Rockland’s 2020 Census count was 242, while the official 2024 estimate was 263. Use one vintage at a time. Power County history describes Rockland Valley as dry-farming and cattle-ranching country shaped by ranchers, Mormon pioneers, and German-Russian immigrants. Wheat, barley, corn, sugar beets, oilseeds, and potatoes form part of that setting.
The dispersed geography explains why sheriff and county dispatch channels matter more than a city portal. The Secretary of State’s 2024 canvass identifies a Rockland City Hall precinct, which supports the city’s civic identity, but its ballot total is not a population measure and does not create a police-record custodian.
